Description

The fearsome lei o mano was a tool of war made by attaching shark teeth to a wooden handle. In times of battle it was used as a slashing tool by warriors such as those who battled for Kamehameha I, the chief who would unite the Hawaiian islands into one kingdom. Puʻukoholā Heiau is considered by many to be the birthplace of the Hawaiian kingdom.
